Joplin police are looking for two men believed to have defrauded a 71-year-old woman on home repairs. The woman reported to police on Thursday that two men came to her door Tuesday offering to do some repairs to her house and garage. Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said the men worked about two hours, putting some caulking on the side of the home and washing and painting the garage floor and then charged the woman $7,800.Niess said she paid them with a check that had been cashed by the time she contacted police. The matter remained under investigation Friday without any arrests having been made.
